WHAT IS A LIMITED SLIP COLLAR? TOP
Like a Martingale collar, Fuzzywumpets' Limited Slip Collars are designed to keep your dogs both safe and comfortable. The plush lined nylon webbing goes on loose, easily slipping over the dog's head. However, the collar functions as a security collar. If the dog pulls in any direction, the collar tightens down so that the dog cannot slip out of the collar, but not enough to choke the dog. This type of collar is particularly recommended for dogs who tend to slip their collars or dog who have a head and neck of roughly the same size. Fuzzywumpets' Limited Slip Collars are a safe and gentle alternative to regular buckle and choke collars.
WHAT IS A WALKING LEAD OR WALKER? TOP
A martingale walking lead
is a double loop style, all-in-one collar/leash combo used for walking. When
fitted correctly, it prevents the dog from getting loose by slipping out of the
collar or lead. The collar and lead are
constructed as a single unit and the leash part is not removable. The collar
part slips over your dog’s head and the plastic slider on the leash part slides
up or down to adjust for a snug fit. Walkers are great for quick trips in the car, to use at agility trials or in lure coursing, or whenever you need an easy-on, easy-off lead.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE COLLAR OR WALKER TO GET FOR MY DOG? TOP
How to Measure and Fit a Fuzzywumpets Limited Slip Collar: When properly fitted, a tightened collar should not be able to slide off your dog's head, but will not tighten smaller than the circumference of the dog’s neck.
How to Measure Your Dog: Using a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string, measure around the dog's head at the widest part, usually under the jaw and over or right in front of the ears. Do not measure your dog’s neck. Fuzzywumpets’ collars are designed to adjust to the proper neck fit when the collar fits over the dog’s head.

XLARGE

How to Fit the Collar on Your Dog: To ensure
your collar is properly adjusted, move the collar up to the narrowest part of
the neck and pull upwards on the control loop (the part the D-ring is attached
to). Adjust the slide on the body of the collar so that when the collar is
fully tightened, the collar cannot be slipped over the dog’s head, but the collar
is not choking the dog.
How to Measure and Fit a Fuzzywumpets Martingale Walking Lead: When properly fitted, a tightened walker should not be able to slide off your dog's head and will prevent the dog from slipping his collar.
How to Measure Your Dog: Using a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string, measure around the dog's neck at the narrowest part, usually at the top of the neck, right behind the ears.
6 Inch Walker - Slides from 6 to 12 inches, fits neck sizes 6 to 9
8 Inch Walker - Slides from 8 to 14 inches, fits neck sizes 8 to 11
10 Inch Walker - Slides from 10 to 16 inches, fits neck sizes 10 to 14
14 Inch Walker - Slides from 14 to 20 inches, fits neck sizes 14 to 18
18 Inch Walker - Slides from 18 to 24 inches, fits neck sizes 18 to 22
How to Fit the Walker on Your Dog: To ensure your walker is properly adjusted, move the collar up to the narrowest part of the neck and slide the plastic slider as tight as it will go. The rings on either side of the collar portion should not be able to touch, meaning that the collar portion is slightly smaller than the dog's neck.
WHAT ARE FUZZYWUMPETS' COLLARS LINED/PADDED WITH? TOP
Fuzzywumpets limited slip collars are lined with a double layer of microplush fabric. Microplush is a breatheable, ridiculously soft fabric that looks sort of like terry cloth, but is much more comfortable. Microplush is made of 100% polyester and won't fade, pill, or bleed.
AREN'T FUZZYWUMPETS' COLLARS HOT IN THE SUMMER TIME? TOP
Actually, Fuzzywumpets' collars allow more airflow to the dog's neck and are consequently cooler than regular nylon collars. Because these collars hang loosely on the dog's neck and because the microplush is breatheable, your dog will find his Fuzzywumpets collar comfortable in either summer or winter.
IS IT SAFE TO LEAVE A LIMITED SLIP COLLAR ON MY DOG UNATTENDED? TOP
All collars can be
potentially unsafe. Playing dogs can get
their lower jaws caught in each other’s collars, collars can become caught in
crate wires or heating vents, or stuck on objects outside. It is
up to each dog owner to evaluate whether the risk of choking or getting a
collar caught is greater than the risk of being without identification. Fuzzywumpets does not endorse either policy
but we do stress that a limited slip collar left on all the time MUST be
adjusted so that it cannot choke the dog when the control loop is tightened.
Always remove all collars when crating your dog.
WHERE SHOULD I PUT THE TAGS ON MY FUZZYWUMPETS COLLAR? TOP
Due to the slight risk of
tags getting caught and causing a choke situation, we highly recommend that all
tags be secured on the slide and NOT the D-ring
